February Community Open Mic – Sunday 02/26/23

The St. Johns Cultural Council and St. Augustine PoetFest present “Poetic Love: A Celebration of the Heart”

Poets and poetry lovers come celebrate all sides of love, live at the Waterworks, with the local poetry community and this month’s facilitator City of St. Augustine Poet Laureate Norma Sherry.

Poets and poetry fans with gather on Sunday, February 26th from 3-4:30 PM at the Waterworks (184 San Marco Avenue, across from the Main Branch of the St. Johns County Library). Poets of all skill levels are given an opportunity to share their poems with a loving and supportive audience.

Readers are invited to present poems that relate to love: the good, the bed, and the ugly”. Love is a battlefield. The look of love. The book of love. All you need is love. The theme is meant as a writing prompt and it is your choice if you want to follow the theme or not. Give us two or three of your polished poems or share fresh ink from your notebook. Invite a friend or two or three to cheer you on.

A sign-up sheet will be available at 2:30 and the open mic will start at 3:00 PM. Readers will be called to the podium in the order their names appear on the list. The mic will be turned off at 4:30 to allow the last 30 minutes for a meet and greet and networking.

Let your poetic words flow through the Waterworks and through the streets of St. Augustine.

There is plenty of parking at the Main Branch Library parking lot and the lot just
to the north of the building, adjacent to the Waterworks building.
